So it was great to see everyone's concentration pieces last week, they were all great! I've been looking around for some ideas for pieces and so far its been going well. This weekend we went up to Timberline and on the way I found some ideas for a piece and the WOA, so it was great! And it was great condition on saturday too, they were running the cat up to the top of palmer, so it was super fun! (its a snow plow with seats basically that takes you to the top of the run) it was sunny and gorgeous up there!! See everyone on monday! only two more weeks till winter break!!!

SNOW (hopefully)!!!

So, I think I may have found what I want to do for my concentration instead of broken things, roadside attractions...its a bit odd but I think it would be kinda funny too. And since I fail miserably when it comes to painting people, it seems like a good idea...I started one and hopefully it will work out.
Moving on to less art related subjects, is anyone else super excited for it to (possibly) snow monday morning/night? I have a physics test tuesday, so the possibility of missing it because of snow is awesome :) And for those who don't have the snow report marked as a favorite on the phone/laptop, there is 38 inches at timberline, 22 at skibowl, and the snow level is going way down this week!!!! yay!!! So my thanksgiving weekend is going to be mainly made of of skiing, eating, and franticly getting my apus paper proposal done :D the stress of which will (hopefully) make up for Thanksgiving dinner. See everyone monday!

WOA

So, first of all I have to say i'm super excited for the Harry Potter Premier on thursday! Not quite so excited about going to school friday on three hours of sleep. Or, for that matter, having to survive a whole week of school!!!
I think i've finally found what I want to do for my concentration, I still need to check whether or not it will make sense...I'm thinking about something to do with modern gost towns, like the ones I drove through on the way to mammoth this summer. Can't wait to see all the WOA's next class!

3 day weekend!!!

So, despite having an extra day off, I still managed to keep all my homework till Sunday night. That is skill :P Other than the last minute homework, I had a pretty good weekend. I went to Warren Miller's Wintervention on Friday night with Colleen, which was super fun, sadly I didn't win a pair of skis or a heli skiing trip, but I guess there is always next year! So many great parts in that movie :D The rest of my weekend was filled with horse stuff, before Warren Miller I went out to my barn, saturday I checked out a new barn, and it turned out pretty good, then on sunday I went out to my barn again, a bit of a trend i think...

Thanks to warren miller and all the awesome powder shots I am now even more excited for skiing, happily the snow level is supposed to drop down to 3,000 feet tonight so we should be getting some good snow this week!!! Yay! I was planning on going up next weekend if the conditions are good, but my dad's going down to LA so i'm stuck in LO :( who knows, maybe i'll go to Antarctica? if anyone else went to see it, that was one of my favorite parts, looked so amazing there! I also really want to go up to Canada heli skiing... So if anyone has a few thousand dollars that they really don't want anymore...? lol

Now onto art stuff...so I worked a bit on my portfolio for my application to the architecture department at U of O and started laying out all the pages etc..., and I thought a bit more on my concentration and WOA project, I'm thinking of doing something with broken things or maybe decomposing things....

I'm going to the harry potter premier at midnight, yay! with amy, colleen, and a bunch of other people, and we all have to dress up XD, so, going for the least obvious possible, I'm going as that one french girl, Fleur, and have to come up with a costume...i was thinking of a teeshirt with a number and her last name, since she's in that competition...any other ideas? Wow, this post turned out rather long...See everyone monday!!

So much homework!!!

Hey! So i'm going to keep this short cause I have a ton of homework due this week that I need to do. Basically I think my computer wants to ruin my life since it wouldn't let me update this yesterday, and so I have to do it today. This week is going to be super busy for me since its the end of the quarter and all my teachers are conspiring to give their students as much homework as possible! Anyways, sorry Ms. McBride for not being there today, I had a bit too much candy yesterday and now feel rather awful. I'm super excited to see the new WOA of art challenge though!!!

10/25/10

hey! hoped everyone had a fun weekend! I got my hat done and my self portrait done over the weekend, well actually sunday, and it was super great to be done with those. The rest of my weekend was pretty low key and boring, except when I went out to my friends barn and saw the little foal that they had there! SO cute!! anyways...that was my kind of relaxing weekend. Sadly I have no time to relax this week since I have two tests and an essay, not to mention that wizard of oz paper Dr. Hoppes wants us to turn in on Halloween. So, anticipating that i would have a ton of work this week, i baked a cake!
btw, does anyone have any pirate gear i could borrow, a hat or eyepatch or something??

Sunday 10, 2010

I love the shape of this one.
This one just looked really peaceful to me
and I love all the different flowers.
So I know this is right in the
middle, but I really liked how the
 light turned out

So this weekend I was super busy, I have an APH test on Monday, the family portrait is due on Monday, and I have a math test on Monday. See the trend here? Anyways, it made me really grateful we had Friday off. So here are a couple of the photos from the trip that I liked. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Summer 2010

Hey everyone! So for the first couple of weeks of summer I stayed in LO and hung out with my friends, and recovered from junior year. I went on a bunch of hikes around Mt. Hood, which were quite gorgeous.
The middle of nowhere
On of the many "towns" that we passed on the way there.

The view from the condo we were staying in
At the beginning of July I flew down to California for fourth of July to visit with my grandma, my awesome cousins and my aunt and uncle. We flew into LA and then from there drove a lovely 6 hours through the middle of nowhere to get to mammoth (which still had snow and had the lifts running till the 5th of July!!). On the way there we passed lots of cute, scenic little towns (I'm being sarcastic).

The family

By the time we arrived at mammoth we were all extremely happy to see some trees. We stayed for a week and did a lot of hiking and some mountain biking, as well as one rather memorable horseback ride.

Tari, one of the horses I'm riding/training.
Jane, the other horse i'm training/riding.
After we came back from California we stay in LO for the remainder of the summer, we went on more hikes etc...but mainly I worked on my artwork, hung out with the remaining friends that had stayed in LO for the summer, and also worked some more with the horses at my barn etc...For those of you who don't know me I've been riding horses since I was four and am currently doing dressage and am on the Lakeridge Equestrian Team. I also love to ski, and am super excited for this winter (snow reports are saying that we're going to get a ton!!!). That was pretty much my summer, see ya'll on Monday!
