Concentration Pieces!

I can't believe its already second semester! The year has been going by so quickly! This weekend I went out to the barn a ton and worked on my concentration...
So here are my next two concentration pieces! I have a third one but its not completely done yet so i'll post a picture of it later. Can't wait to see everyone's!!
So this is the troll thing thats under that one bridge up by Seattle.
And this is the half dome in Yosemite when you're looking from this one viewpoint right off the road that goes through the park.

  1. These are both really nice Zoe! And the both work well with your concentration!

In the first one, I love the pop of yellow. It makes the drawing interesting and gives a nice emphasis. However, I would like to see more dark values in the troll's face because its getting a little lost in the background.

I really love the second one! The proportion is great! I love how the half dome is towering over the car. The colors are also nice and you have some good dark/light values!

    Great job Zoe!

  2. I completely agree with Eva that the first one needs a lot more dark values. Right now, it's very soft, which I think isn't really how the Seattle Troll is haha. It could use a lot more detailed lines and depth for the troll to pop out in a way and be realistic.
The softness in the second one works a lot better (I especially love the blue sky for some reason)!! I'm confused though, is the car parked there, or just driving by these scenery? If it's driving by...might want a driver in there!
The colors in these are beautiful, and they are very well crafted. Yay Zoe! :)

  3. i for sure agree with eva and nina...i would push the value in the top piece. i also really like the pop of yellow! i love the trolls expression in his eyes. for the bottom one i actually wish it was a little crisper...i dont really know if i like the softness. i also think it would look nice if the red was a little bit stronger! but the sky. mountains, and trees look AMAZING!
